Featured Recipe

1 (18 1/4-oz) pkg. yellow cake mix
1 egg
8 Tbsp. (1 stick) butter, melted

1 (8-oz) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 (15-ounce) can pumpkin
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
8 Tbsp. (1 stick) butter, melted
1 (16-ounce) box powdered sugar (3 ¾ cups)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
Preheat oven to 350˚

Combine the cake mix, egg, and butter and mix well with an electric mixer. Pat the mixture into the bottom of a lightly greased 13 by 9-inch baking pan.

To make the filling: In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and pumpkin until smooth. Add the eggs, vanilla, and butter, and beat together. Next, add the powdered sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and mix well. Spread pumpkin mixture over cake batter and bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Make sure not to overbake as the center should be a little gooey.

Serve with fresh whipped cream and freshly grated nutmeg.
Short and sweet today since we know you've got a lot going on with the holidays coming up. Enjoy them! And we hope to see you in 2009!
Blessings & Happy Holidays!

 Our Adorable Grandson Josiah
Reynolds Family Update...
For those of you that have become our dear friends, here's a snippet on what's going on with our family...
Bethany & James are doing well and their son Josiah turned 1 year old in September. They are expecting another son due in February. We couldn't be more thrilled about more grandbabies on the way!
Rachel & Sean
Rachel is engaged to be married to a wonderful guy she met while in High School and is now in the marines. They will be getting married here at the Lodge on December 20th, just a few weeks away!
Nathan is in Boulder going to college and working 2 part time jobs, he's a busy guy and comes home once in a while for a good home cooked meal and to raid our pantry. We don't get to see him nearly as much as we'd like.
After Rachel's wedding we will be completely empty nesters... I'm not sure how I feel about that... pretty bitter-sweet I suppose.
