Dear Debbie,

Springtime in Colorado... hmmmm, seems more like an oxymoron around here actually. We've had more snow the past month than we've had the majority of the entire winter. I was stuck in the Denver airport overnight a few weeks ago when I missed a connecting flight due to a major snowstorm (April 17th), we had 18" of snow here at the Lodge. Had another foot the following weekend. And about 4 inches last weekend (May). It's been cold and foggy the past week (in the 30's and 40's), and today it's in the 60's, it actually seems like Spring is here. But not to get hopes up as it's supposed to be in the 40's over the weekend again. But not to worry, spring, and summer, are just around the corner, truly in a matter of days, if not weeks.
So get those calendars out and start planning your Colorado vacation getaway. We have plenty of availability this summer, especially if you're looking for a Bed and Breakfast getaway or Family Reunion. Read on for news about what's been going on around here, and what's coming up...

Reynolds Family Update
Micah BrianIn February we were blessed with another Grandson... Michah Brian (2 1/2 months old in this picture). He's a big boy, we've determined he's going to be a big football player. Debbie had the pleasure of staying with Bethany, James, Josiah & Micah for 2 weeks to help with the the boys. It was bliss! Unbelievable how fast they grow up! Micah's now 3 months old, and Josiah's just about 20 months old!
Josiah Thomas - 18 months oldJosiah & Micah absolutely adore each other!Bethany, Rachel & Nathan March 2009
Bethany has her hands full being a stay at home Mom with the 2 boys; she's still in the exhaustion mode from sleep deprivation, but adores the boys! James just finished his Master's Degree. Rachel will be coming back home in July as Sean is being deployed for 7 months, they're sad about that as they're still newlyweds after just getting married in December. And Nate just finished his 2nd year of college (today as a matter of fact). The kiddos are all doing well, we're proud parents. It is strange having an empty nest, so it will be good to have Rachel back home for a few months.
Brian's been working hard (as always) on maintenance on all of our facilities, but mainly spending hundreds of hours refinishing all the windows and doors in the Lodge. By the time he's finished he says he will have refinished nearly 500 window panes, each with 4 sides, making nearly 1,000 edges he's sanded, repaired, and painted. He will be so glad when he's done. Make sure to tell him how nice the windows look the next time you come!
And Debbie's been working on a cookbook for the past 2 years and is now in the final stages. I just have to finish proofreading it and off to the publisher it goes. Hopefully it will be ready for sale by the end of the summer, so watch for the announcement about it!
We thank all of you for being our guests, and look forward to having you back again. With this strange economy, we have lots of availability this summer, especially in the Bed and Breakfast and Lodge Rental, so check our availability calendar and come sneak away for a little R&R, we'd love to have you back again!
