APPLE CRISP

Apple Crisp

Apples are a big time fall favorite just about anywhere I think. There are lots of recipes I make with apples, but this Apple Crisp recipe is one I serve at the B&B often in the fall. It's always a hit, enjoy!

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

APPLES:
  • 3 Granny Smith apples
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

In a large bowl mix together sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt; set aside.

Peel and thinly slice apples, stir into flour mixture.

Spoon apples into a well greased casserole dish, individual ramekins, or custard cups.

STREUSEL TOPPING:
  • 3/4 cup uncooked oats
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 8 Tbsp. cold butter

In a large bowl combine oats, brown sugar, flour, baking soda, and baking powder.

Cut in butter until it resenbles coarse crumbs.

Sprinkle over apple mixture.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, or until top is golden brown and edges are bubbling lightly.

Serve with Vanilla Ice Cream, if desired.

Serves 6-12, depending on the size of servings.
